I created this website when I was studying for my PhD, full time with the Institute of Educational Technology (IET) at the Open University. The title of my thesis is
Geolearners: Informal Learning with Mobile and Social Technologies
I passed the viva in 2009 and have deposited two beautifully bound copies of my thesis reside in the Open University Library. I had to produce three copies; one for my department, IET, and two for the OU library. One of the library copies was for the archives and one was for loan. However I cannot imagine that the hardcopy will get borrowed all that often given the fact that I’ve made the PDF available on my website.
Having completed the PhD, I joined a European project called xDELIA. This project is using bio-sensors and serious games to investigate the effects of emotional bias on financial decision making amongst traders, investors and private individuals. It’s an amazingly complex project, bring together multiple disciplines from several European countries, however thus far it is really exciting. I’m pleased that it lasts for 3 years because that really gives a good chunk of time to get into something.
After that....who knows. I need to think of a new direction for my website. Meanwhile, I have a downloadable copy of my thesis, an up-to-date list of my publications, some of my favourite photos and links to two of my blogs.
