My main research interests are location-aware mobile technologies, social technologies and the impact they can have on learning. In particular, I’ve studied Geocaching and the informal learning opportunities that it offers. This research is covered in detail in my PhD thesis which you can download. I’ve also published papers which are rather shorter and rather easier to read :). These are listed on the publications page.
I’m currently working on a 3-year European project called xDELIA. This project is using bio-sensors and serious games to investigate the effects of emotional bias on financial decision making amongst traders, investors and private individuals. It’s an amazingly complex project, bring together multiple disciplines from several European countries; thus far it is really exciting. I’m pleased that it lasts for 3 years because that really gives a good chunk of time to get interesting results.
